Albir

Albir is a small charming town located on the Costa Blanca, a very popular travel destination among Europeans. Locals refer to it sometimes as El Albir or L'Albir. This beautiful beach resort is conveniently located between Benidorm and Altea. The city is easily reached via Alicante Airport which is 62 km away and the drive to Albir takes under 1 hour. You can also travel by bus from the airport. The vibrant city of Valencia is only a 90 minutes’ drive from Albir. The neighbouring town Alfaz del Pi is known for its international atmosphere and has a beach named after Albir. 

In the city of Albir there are height building restrictions, here you can build a maximum of four floors high. The lower houses add to the charm of the city and make most homes have a striking view. Here you will find many different types of accommodation, whether you are looking for an older villa or want to buy a modern apartment. In the Sierra Helada area, there is a popular walking path leading up to a lighthouse. In the surroundings of the beautiful beach Playa de Racó there are modern apartments with large terraces facing the sea and the Calpe Rock. Golf enthusiasts will enjoy the vast number of golf courses, such as Las Rejas and Altea Club de Golf. 

El Albir has a host of activities for tourists as well as locals to indulge in. Start by visiting the markets to get some authentic Costa Blanca souvenirs. You can then proceed to the Playa del Albir beach to soak up some sun. Make things more interesting by visiting the Parque Natural de la Serra Gelada for hikes, walks or bike rides. There are also water parks like Aqua Natura and Aqualandia, as well as the Terra Mitica theme park. And to see exotic animals, visit the Terra Natura zoo. You can then wind down with a nice meal at the various restaurants along the streets which serve up different cuisine to suit every palette.
