La Manga is a 20-kilometre long strip of land in the Spanish region of Murcia. It can be found between the saltwater lagoon Mar Menor and the Mediterranean; La Manga offers many long sandy beaches. Here you live in a climate of about 320 days of sunshine a year, which makes it an excellent place to settle in if you are tired of wet and chilly weather. La Manga, whose name means just sleeve in Spanish, belongs to the two municipalities of Cartagena in the south and San Javier in the north. A drive of 75 kilometres in a southerly direction lies the larger city of Murcia, a cultural city with beautiful buildings.
