    La Manga is a 20-kilometre long strip of land in the Spanish region of Murcia. It can be found between the saltwater lagoon Mar Menor and the Mediterranean; La Manga offers many long sandy beaches. Here you live in a climate of about 320 days of sunshine a year, which makes it an excellent place to settle in if you are tired of wet and chilly weather. La Manga, whose name means just sleeve in Spanish, belongs to the two municipalities of Cartagena in the south and San Javier in the north. A drive of 75 kilometres in a southerly direction lies the larger city of Murcia, a cultural city with beautiful buildings.

    In La Manga, you can combine fun activities with quiet days on the beach. You can take boat trips to the various nearby islands. Why not visit the area's main attraction, Puente de la Risa? It is a bridge with an unusually high slope, which makes it a unique experience to travel on.     There is a lot to do here all year round, but during the summer months, the area is filled with more people and activity than during the winter. For sports and golf enthusiasts it is recommended to visit the resort La Manga Club. Here you can play golf on three different courses and also use the resort's sports facility. There are several golf courses nearby, including the popular Roda Golf & Beach Resort and Club de Golf Altorreal.

    As a resident here you are also close to major cities, such as Murcia and Cartagena and all the excellent shopping you will find there. In the southern part of La Manga lies the cosy little village of Cabo de Palos, which is a little hidden gem with fantastic restaurants, swimming opportunities and walking paths.     Around Murcia
