Torrox - the municipality with "the best weather in Europe" according to AEMET, Spain's metrological institute, is growing enormously in popularity. Torrox consists of Torrox Pueblo dating back to the 7th century, a village up in the mountains with the famous square, Plaza de la Constiticion, with all the colorful umbrellas for protection from the sun. Here you can enjoy a genuine Spanish atmosphere, narrow alleys and small bars and cafes.
From the mountain village, there are excellent bus connections down to Torrox Costa, with its popular beach and promenade lined with restaurants. At the western end of Torrox Costa is El Morche, which is a continuation of the coast but with a slightly quieter and more Spanish athmosphere. At the other end of the coast, facing Nerja, is El Peñoncillo known for its beach and many chiringuitos. This area is also known for the modern exclusive exclusive villas with amazing sea views - an area that is growing steadily.
In Torrox, a golf course and also a marina with restaurants are planned, which will contribute to the municipality's further increase in popularity.
