Living in Denia

The area of La Marina Alta extends from Alicante in the south to Valencia in the north. It is here you will find the beautiful city of Denia, which dates back to the 11th century. A prominent feature of this lovely city is the ancient, historic castle, which is built on a cliff overlooking Denia and commands panoramic sea views. It has been inhabited ever since Roman times. The walls of the castle also host the Archaeological Museum, filled with Roman artefacts found nearby.

Denia is renowned for its 20 kilometres of coastline with sandy beaches, and for its culinary delights such as fresh seafood from the fish market and paella. The city has received UNESCO awards, and the beaches have a 'blue flag' award.

In Denia, you will also find beautiful nature reserves such as Montgo and Torre del Gerro with marked hiking trails to enjoy. A great way to get to different places in the city is to cycle or walk through the orange groves that border the dirt roads and the coastal strip.

In the town is the prestigious marina with its spectacular elevated promenade. The old town, the impressive tree-lined shopping street and the museums, all offer an insight into authentic Spanish culture and lifestyle. The Ibiza inspired lounge bars in the harbour area offer a cooling oasis in the city that has 320 days of sunshine a year. Denia attracts many boat owners, yacht club members and beach guests, it’s not unusual to find a celebrity face among them! Our experienced estate agents are happy to tell you more about what it is like to live in Denia.
